We were a member of the EU COST Programme IE0601 “Wood Science for Conservation of Cultural Heritage“, which ensured top-level training for our specialists.

In March 2009, our mycologist participated in the COST Programme training “Wood-destroying Insects and Decay Fungi in and Moulds on Wooden Cultural Heritage Objects and Constructions” held in Hamburg, Germany.

In April 2009, Dr. Uwe Noldt, leading researcher in wood-destroying beetles in the European Union, visited Estonia at our representative’s request. With his help, we are hoping to restore the wooden structures of churches on the island of Ruhnu.

In May 2011, our mycologist participated in another COST Programme training “Wood Cultural Heritage Conservation: Advanced X-ray and Optical Techniques” held in Florence and Pisa, Italy.

In June 2015, our specialists Kalle Pilt and Siiri Vessmann participated in COST programme FP1303 training school: Evaluation of mould risk, Biocomposites Centre, Bangor University, UK.
